OK, first I received some comments on my downloadlinks for the freebies.
mediafire had the hickups and so you couldn't download the freebies.
As for I can see, Mediafire is back up and running so, you can download again.
So it wasn't at your end, neither on mine ;)

And my little pearl...My kit where I've been the most proud of.
Especially because when I started with the kit I was so not happy with it, I almost

And luckily others noticed it too, cause this was a RAK at DST, DSA and IL, and I never had so many replies on a kit!

It's Bleached, and with Bleached I finally found my design style. After years of not being very comfortable with my style, it was such a hodgepodge, I think my style is really clean with some color pops here and there. So YAY for Bleached and my Style

Tutorial Soft multicolor paper

Ok, not my first tutorial I've written, but my first tutorial for PS
(I'm usually a PSP user, but I've switched to PS)

What we're going to make is a soft multicolored textured paper YAY!

What you need:

a colorswatch of your liking
I'll take the one that's already in my preset manager

2 greyscaled overlays. I with texture and one paper/cardboard/light grunge.
I took the texture from my freebie (the blogpost under this one...download it...it's free!!)
and I took a cardboard overlay from Amanda Rockwell!! (she rocks overlays)
but any other will do the trick too.

Ok let's begin making papers!!

- Open a new file 12x12" transparent, and fill it with a color you like.

- Take a basic brush, and make it 2500 in diameter, and hardness at 0

- Choose a color from your swatch and brush on your paper.
Take different colors each time.
I made a little earth/sky/clouds example, but you can go wacko if you like :)

- Now drag your overlay (not heavy textured) on top of your paper.
Set the blendmode on screen if you want a really soft look, or try other blendmodes.

I prefer screen for elegant, soft looks, or overlay for some pop effect.

- Drag your textured overlay on top of that and apply an overlay blendmode

And look what you have just made :)
If you like your paper, merge them together and voila!

Here's my outcome with the cardboard overlay on overlay blendmode

And here I applied a screen blendmode...do you see the softness?

And so you can use it on a lot of papers and overlays...

Whoohoooooo!! I'm the hostess of 2 great challenges at Inspiration Lane!
I host the Quote challenge, and the Song Lyric challenge

I love great quotes, and I think a great quote can boost your LO's.
So I was screaming to host this challenge.
For August the Quote is:
"To love and be loved, is to feel the sun from both sides"

I took the quote a bit litteral for my LO, but it turned out a cool one
In my opinion. Image is linked to the Quote gallery.

And soon the papers i used will be a freebie, so keep checking my blog!!

When I offered to host the Quote challenge, I was actually hoping to get the Song Lyrics Challenge too,
Cause I'm a singer, and I love music and even better lyrics. If the lyrics don't get me, I'm not liking the arrangements very much...those 2 have to fit together.

I was planning to use "What hurts the most" by Rascal Flatts, but using a sad song seems no fun in a challenge, so I choose a different song from this great band.

The Song "Like I am" is soooooo beautiful, and I listen to it often.
And here's my interpretation of the lyrics.

This is the story behind it

"The layout I created is of my husband, father-in-law, and brother-in-law. It was taken just about 4 years ago when my father-in-law was battling stage 4 cancer. His boys shaved their heads in his honor. He treasured this photo and carried it with him in and out of the hospital, rehab, and finally hospice as the days in his life sharply dwindled. Almost exactly 3 months after the photo was taken he died. A week after that I gave birth to his first grandchild, my oldest son, Noah. The layout I created is of my husband, father-in-law, and brother-in-law. It was taken just about 4 years ago when my father-in-law was battling stage 4 cancer. His boys shaved their heads in his honor. He treasured this photo and carried it with him in and out of the hospital, rehab, and finally hospice as the days in his life sharply dwindled. I'm still in whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa mode lol
A couple of days ago I send a message to Inspiration Lane and
asked if they had any open spots.
I loved the activity around there, and did you know what great designers sell there?
I've kept in mind that they would prolly not accept me, cause who am I?

But yesterday I get a mail from Jenn that they would love to have me...
ME!! They picked ME to be part of the IL family whaaaaaaaaaaa!!

I'm so proud of myself lol

The community is great, the people warm and hilarious
and I feel pretty at home already. They have great challenges too,
so check out their forum
My work will debut saturday, and also my new kit will be launched.

And a new weekend has arrived again!!
Time goes by so very quickly, I'm feeling of loosing control about it

My DH (to be ) was very sick this week, and we had to rush him to the ER with a fever up to 104F (40C). He has Strep throat, and thnx to some great advice from people over at DST I could manage it to take the fever down. Man was I scared !
And now...I think he gave it back to me but lol

I managed to put my new kit "Our Soft Side" in my stores, and people received it very good YAY!

I also got 3 wonderful girls for my CT, but I'll introduce them to you later.
I know they'll do a very good job, and hope they can keep up with me, or vice versa.

I was also Rak'd with some great kits, and made a couple LO's with it.

That's right...I don't have a garden.
I'm living in an appartment and have a balcony.
That doesn't mean I'd like to have a garden,
with all the cute little inhabitants I've made for
my new kit!

First of all I have lowered my full kit prices at TotallyD Designs

I had time to finish it, cause I'm sick...

I've got the flu pretty bad, and no, not the mexican type.
Got a sore throat and sucking all day long on icecubes.
My muscles are aching, and my skin is real sensitive...
Yep definitely the flu...UGH!

But that gave me time to finish up my cute little kit.

My health is finally great, I'm happy, and got a wonderful life now.
